Most of the characters are fairly detailed. This bloke even has a chain link necklace. To me it’s the little details that sell or destroy an image. Little detail on a model sells the idea of completeness. No matter how detailed a character is, the viewer should always expect to see more  if he or she could just get a closer look. Once the viewer can see the limit of the detail the illusion is generally shot.
