I am a 3D artist living in Los Angeles, California and have been creating art since I was a wee tot.

Most of my early artwork consisted of caricatures and figurative work in pen and ink. I started doing freelance work seriously when I was about 17. Mostly I did T-shirts, flyers and simple logos but it was a valuable learning experience.

I did very little creative artwork while attending college (my degree is in business administration) but picked up again with a fury when I finished school.

In a way, getting a business degree is the best thing I ever did for my art. After college, I felt I needed to make up for all that lost time and I have worked furiously ever since to improve my art skills and to find my own personal style. I have found my style and medium but continue to push my skills. I like my artwork but I hope I always feel that it is never good enough.

I started making art for computer games in 1991 at a small company called Mindcraft. My first project was a PC game called Siege. I have been working in the game industry and for entertainment-related companies ever since. I have worked with a few other game companies including THQ, SSI / Mindscape, and then started my own company Burke Studios. I enjoyed all of these places but, of course, having my own company was the most rewarding, it was also the most trying. Someone muttered to me once, something about the highs being higher and the lows being lower when you have your own company. I have got to say there is some real truth to this.

My future plans are to continue doing the work I love and sticking with 3D animation as my primary weapon of artistic expression.
